Test them monthly by pushing the test button on each and every detector in your home.Some detector may start making beeping or chirping sounds if the batteries are weak and require replacement. Please replace battery(s) yearly. Have all the your smoke, heat and CO2 detector(s) relaced every 5-10 years (check manufacturer recommendations). The life(s) and home you save may be your own!

If the power is off in only one area it may have tripped a circuit breaker. To reset a tripped breaker it must be pushed fully to the off position first and then pushed back on. If it trips off again you have a problem in the electrical system. Call now! 614-863-0588

Outdoor outlets, garage outlets or basement outlets not working

GFI protected outlets may be installed near a sinks, garage area, basement and other wet areas around your home. Look around the house and test and reset all the GFI’s. Yes, the tripped GFI OUTLET in your bathroom may be the reason the garage, basement and outdoor outlets are not functioning. Each GFI circuit can control 10 or more receptacles. Most homes built before 1975 did not require GFIC outlets to be installed at the time their of construction.

This very common condition that is sometimes fixed just by locating the GFI breaker or outlet and resetting it. The GFI circuit breaker should be located in the main electric panel. Flip the breaker handle to the off position and then to the on position. You may have GFI outlets that need to be reset. They are labeled test and reset. First push the test button and then push the reset button. GFI's are very important safety items. Have them replaced immediately if they are not working properly. Power or Lights flickering
Some kitchens may have 2 or more GFI outlets that may need to reset. You may have overload your circuit and tripped the breaker by using a one or more of this appliances at the same time (coffee maker, frying pan, toaster, microwave or blender) . Overloaded outlet should trip the circuit breaker to prevent a fire or damage to your electrical wiring.
